Image
TOPIC: WILL YOU BE READY? III MEMORISE : I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. Luke 17:34 READ : Matthew 24:36-51 36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. 43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not ha...

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL. SPARE THE ROD, SPOIL THE CHILD. : FRIDAY 13TH NOVEMBER 2020.

Image
MEMORISE: Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. Proverbs 22:15 READ: Proverbs 23:12-14 12 Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge. 13 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. 14 Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell. MESSAGE: In the school I attended in my village, there were children from both affluent and poor homes. One day, a child from an affluent home committed a misdemeanor, and the teacher meted out corporal punishment to him. This was an approved means of discipline in the school but the boy reported to his father who came to the school the next day and beat up the teacher. Our teacher reported the assault to the local police, however the rich man had been there earlier to bribe them, so the police did not act on the report. Our teacher, frustrated and deeply aggrieved, returned and divided ...

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL. ACTIONS OVERSHADOW WORDS. : THURSDAY 12TH NOVEMBER 2020.

MEMORISE: For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.  John 13:15 READ: John 13:12-15 12 So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? 13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. MESSAGE: Many parents complain that their children do not obey them. Most times however, the parents are to blame. Children can see and hear more than you know; they absorb information from their homes both consciously and subconsciously. When there is a difference between the words and actions of a parent, the children become confused and will most likely follow the actions of their parents since ‘Actions speak louder than words.’ The best way to teach children is by example. Lead the way and ...

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL. CHRISTIAN DISCIPLESHIP IV. : WEDNESDAY 11TH NOVEMBER 2020.

Image
MEMORISE: I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.  Acts 20:35 READ: 1 Corinthians 9:1-11 1Am I am not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord? 2 If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord. 3 Mine answer to them that do examine me is this, 4 Have we not power to eat and to drink? 5 Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas? 6 Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working? 7 Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? 8 Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? 9 For it i...

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL. CHRISTIAN DISCIPLESHIP III. : TUESDAY 10TH NOVEMBER 2020.

Image
MEMORISE: Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.  Hebrews 13:17 READ: Hebrews 13:17-18 17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you. 18 Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly. MESSAGE: As a Christian, you must be careful when making the choice of who to disciple you. Success in a discipline is enough reason for anyone to qualify as your coach or mentor. The first thing you should consider is the spirituality of the fellow- how is his/her relationship with God? 2 Corinthians 6:14 says: “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? an...

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL. CHRISTIAN DISCIPLESHIP II. : MONDAY 9TH NOVEMBER 2020.

Image
MEMORISE: And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,  Mark 3:14 READ: Matthew 15:15-20 15 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable. 16 And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding? 17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: 20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man. MESSAGE: Availability is a key element in discipleship. A coach must always be there to answer questions and give advice. As a coach, you should always answer or return your coachee’s calls. Find time to be with them, even if it means taking them along with you on trips or to even...

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL. CHRISTIAN DISCIPLESHIP I.: SUNDAY 8TH NOVEMBER 2020.

Image
MEMORISE: But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples. Mark 4:34 READ: Matthew 13:10-30 10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? 11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. 12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. 13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. 14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: 15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and h...

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL. DON’T MISS HEAVEN. : SATURDAY 7TH NOVEMBER 2020.

Image
MEMORISE: And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. Revelation 21:21 READ: John 14:1-3 1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. MESSAGE: No matter how beautiful any earthly city is, none is one-tenth as beautiful as heaven, and this is a fact. Do you know any city with streets and highways of pure gold? The answer is ‘NO’, however, Revelation 21:21 says the streets of Heaven are made of pure gold. Jesus says in John 14:2:   “ In my Father's house are many mansions...” Many years ago, I had the privilege of seeing my mansion in Heaven. It was already as big as an entire city, yet it was still being ...
