Psalms 40: 1 READ: Psalms 40:1 -2 1 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. 2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. MESSAGE In Psalm 40:1. David said God inclined unto him and heard his cry - not his whisper, but his cry. A cry in this context is a prayer made with violence. Matthew 11:12 says "And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force."
