TOPIC: GODLY COUNSEL MEMORISE Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end. (Proverbs 19:20) READ : Exodus 18:13-26 (KJV) 13 And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses sat to judge the people: and the people stood by Moses from the morning unto the evening. 14 And when Moses' father in law saw all that he did to the people, he said, What is this thing that thou doest to the people? why sittest thou thyself alone, and all the people stand by thee from morning unto even? 15 And Moses said unto his father in law, Because the people come unto me to enquire of God: 16 When they have a matter, they come unto me; and I judge between one and another, and I do make them know the statutes of God, and his laws. 17 And Moses' father in law said unto him, The thing that thou doest is not good. 18 Thou wilt surely wear away, both thou, and this people that is with thee: for this thing is too heavy for thee; thou art not able to perform it thyself alone...

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL: SATURDAY 3rd APRIL 2021.

TOPIC:  THE ONE AND ONLY SAVIOUR!

MEMORISE:
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.   Acts 4:12
READ:  Acts 2:22-24

22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

MESSAGE:
And she shall bring forth a son, and  thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. Matthew 1 :21

The fact that Jesus is our Savior is the major difference between Christianity and other religions of the world today. Why is Jesus Christ the one and only Savior? You will find the answer to this in John 14:6 where Jesus testifies of Himself thus:

“...I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

The validity of this claim cannot be disputed. According to 1John 2:2, God Himself raised Jesus as "....the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world." Since sin entered the world" through Adam and Eve, the human race inherited it.

Unfortunately for unbelievers, sin will continue to rule over them until they come to Jesus whose blood offers remission of sins (Matthew 26:28).

In Acts 2:22-24, Peter plainly declared the mission, the passion and perfect atonement Jesus accomplished for mankind.   Acts   4:12   corroborates   this   perfect redemption which Jesus brought to us. It says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Going by the weight of Jesus' action, you would see why the author of Hebrews asked the fundamental question in Hebrews 2:3 "How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation ... ?"

Jesus carried out His earthly ministry with great grace, and in a way that distinguishes Him from the religious leaders we see all over the world today (Luke 4:18-19), so much so that the Pharisees admitted that He taught as Someone "with authority" (Mark 1:22). Beloved, Jesus is the only way to God the Father (John 14:6) and He is also the only way to obtain true deliverance from demonic torment. He went about doing good (Acts 1 0: 38); He can do you good today, if only you· would accept Him as your Lord and Savior and continue to live righteously. I sincerely plead with you to be wise.
God bless you.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, I accept Your offer of salvation through Jesus, my Lord today. Receive, forgive, and revive me as I rededicate my life to You today, in the mighty name of Jesus.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Numbers 16-18.

AUTHOR: PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE

HYMN 28:  WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS.

1. What a friend we have in Jesus,All our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carryEverything to God in prayer!Oh, what peace we often forfeit,Oh, what needless pain we bear,All because we do not carryEverything to God in prayer!

2. Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged—Take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful,Who will all our sorrows share?Jesus knows our every weakness;Take it to the Lord in prayer.

3. Are we weak and heavy-laden,Cumbered with a load of care?Precious Savior, still our refuge—Take it to the Lord in prayer.Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?Take it to the Lord in prayer! In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,Thou wilt find a solace there.

4. Blessed Savior, Thou hast promisedThou wilt all our burdens bear;May we ever, Lord, be bringingAll to Thee in earnest prayer.Soon in glory bright, unclouded,There will be no need for prayer—Rapture, praise, and endless worshipWill be our sweet portion there.
