TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING HARVESTS MEMORIZE : While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. Genesis 8:22 READ : Mark 4:26-29  26 And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; 27 And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. 28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. 29 But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come. MESSAGE The first thing to understand about harvests is that they ultimately come from God. 1 Corinthians 3:6 says, "I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase." Also, harvests come in different levels, which Jesus identified as thirtyfold, sixtyfold, and hundredfold (Mark 4:20). Some Bible scholars believe that a thirtyfold harvest results from...

TOPIC: THE GOOD GROUND MEMORIZE : And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred. Mark 4:8 READ : Mark 4:20 20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred. MESSAGE Today, I will discuss what it means to sow on good ground. Mark 4:20 tells us that the seeds which fell on good ground brought forth a harvest. This implies that they did not fall by the wayside, they were watered by God, and they were not suffocated by thorns. For you to sow on good ground and reap bountiful harvests, you must do the following: 1. Honor God with your resources and obey all His principles for financial success. Honor the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. Proverbs ...

TOPIC: THE THORNY GROUND MEMORIZE : And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. Mark 4:7 READ : Mark 4:18-19  18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, 19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. MESSAGE Today, I will continue my discussion on the different kinds of soils by examining thorny grounds. Thorns are dangerous, and they choke everything they come in contact with. When people lead lifestyles that drain them financially because they want to show off, they are sowing on thorny ground. For example, such people may rent apartments that their income can hardly sustain, buy expensive clothes and jewelry that they cannot  afford and get into unnecessary debt just to sustain their fake lifestyles. When you live an extravagant life, you are putting your money in thorny ground. An adage s...

TOPIC: THE STONY GROUND MEMORISE : And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: Mark 4:5 READ : Mark 4:16-17 16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. MESSAGE In continuation of my discussion from yesterday about the different kinds of soils, I will examine stony grounds today. The major problem with a stony ground is that it does not retain water sufficiently for the seeds planted in it to grow. Water is needed for seeds to germinate, even though it is God who will determine the increase (1 Corinthians 3:6-8). In Amos 4:7-8, the Lord said that if He decides to withhold the rain, a city will soon go into famine and will start begging another c...

OPIC: THE WAYSIDE MEMORISE : And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the wayside, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up. Mark 4:4 READ : Mark 4:14-15 14 The sower soweth the word. 15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. MESSAGE Yesterday, l explained that the quality of soil determines the level of harvest that a seed can yield. When a seed is planted in some soils, it will not even germinate. In today's memory verse, we see that some seeds that fell on the wrong kind of soil did not germinate because birds ate them. Some scholars have suggested that the wayside refers to money spent on regular wild parties and other similar vices. When people throw parties, people will come, eat, drink, and say 'thank you'; however, that is where it all ends. Such people might say, "Others will invite me to their parties also." T...

TOPIC: FINANCIAL WISDOM MEMORISE : With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding. Job 12:13 READ : Mark 4:1-7  1 And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land. 2 And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine, 3 Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow: 4 And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up. 5 And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: 6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. MESSAGE Seeds have the potential to become harvests, but not all fulfil that potential. John 12:24 says ...

TOPIC: JEHOVAH RAPHA MEMORISE : And you shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water, and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. Exodus 23:25 READ : John 9:1-7  1 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. 2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? 3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. 4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. 6 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, 7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing. MESSAGE Years ago, I suddenly discovered...

TOPIC: JEHOVAH TSIDKENU MEMORISE : For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. Romans 10:4 READ : Romans 8:1-11  1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3.For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 S...

TOPIC: JEHOVAH SHALOM MEMORISE : Peace, I leave with you, my peace l give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27 READ : Mark 4:35-41   35 And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. 36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. 37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. 38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? 39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man ...

TOPIC: JEHOVAH NISSI MEMORISE : The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. Exodus 14:14 READ : Exodus 14:21-31  21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. 22 And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left. 23 And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen. 24 And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the LORD looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians, 25 And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the LORD fighteth for them against the Egyptians. 26 And the LORD...

TOPIC: JEHOVAH ROHI MEMORISE He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arms, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young. Isaiah 40:11 READ: John 10:1-14 1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. 4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. 5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. 6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them. 7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All that...

TOPIC:  JEHOVAH SHAMMAH MEMORISE : I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.   Psalm 16:8 READ :  Genesis 28:10-22  10 And Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran. 11 And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep. 12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it. 13 And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed; 14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the e...

TOPIC: JEHOVAH JIREH MEMORISE:  But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 READ : Genesis 22:1-14  1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. 2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. 3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him. 4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off. 5 And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you. 6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt of...

TOPIC:  EBENEZER MEMORISE: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.   Psalm 46:1 READ:   Psalms 60:11-12  11 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man. 12 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies. MESSAGE In 1 Samuel 7:12, when Samuel said, Ebenezer, which means thus far hath the Lord helped us', he knew what he was talking about. He knew that God had helped Israel in Exodus 12:1-51 when He humbled Pharaoh, their oppressor, and set His children free. In the name above every other name, every force that has been holding you down will let you go. If they don't want to let you go gently, they will release you by force, in Jesus' narme. Samuel knew that God had helped Israel to cross the Red Sea in Exodus 14. He knew that the Lord spoke through Moses and told him that they would never see the enemies they had seen that night again. He knew that God had helped them in Exodus 15:22-26 w...

TOPIC: PRAYERS FOR MARRIAGES MEMORISE : With all lowliness and meekness, with long suffering, forbearing one another in love; Ephesians 4:2 READ : Ecclesiastes 9:9-12 9 Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun. 10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. 11 I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. 12 For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when...

TOPIC: THE JOY OF HOPE MEMORISE : And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Romans 5:5 READ : Psalms 130:5-7  5 I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. 6 My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning. 7 Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption. MESSAGE My Helper is alive, and He does not change (Hebrews 13:8). He is Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the One who was, is, and is to come (Revelation 1:8). He has helped me thus far, and He will help me until the end. This is my hope and confidence. It is dangerous to be hopeless; never lose hope. In 1 Kings 19:1-8, when things were not going the way Elijah expected them to go, he asked God to kill him. However, in 1 Kings 21:1-24, you will see in verse 20 that Ahab, whom he had been...

TOPIC: TRUE RICHES MEMORISE: For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world ,and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Matthew 16:26 READ : Mark 8:34-37 34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. 36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? 37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels. TOPIC: TRUE FREEDOM MEMORISE : If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. John 8:36 READ: Psalms 145:5-10 5 I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works. 6 And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy greatness. 7 They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness. 8 The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. 9 The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works. 10 All thy works shall praise thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee. MESSAGE Ordinarily, a fish in a well might seem to be doing well as it swims in circles. However, it can't get out because it is surrounded by a wall. Being in prison is just like being a fish in a well. Prisoners are fed, but usually not with the kinds of food they would love to eat. Also, when they are sick. they are treated.
