TOPIC: BE KIND ALWAYS MEMORISE : “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32 READ JOSHUA 2:1-24 1 And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there. 2 And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to night of the children of Israel to search out the country. 3 And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, which are entered into thine house: for they be come to search out all the country. 4 And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, There came men unto me, but I wist not whence they were: 5 And it came to pass about the time of shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out: whither the men went I wot not: pursue after them quickly; for ye sha...

TOPIC: DON'T THINK FOR GOD MEMORISE : Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? But the thunder of his power who can understand? Job 26:14   READ : Romans 11:33-36 33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! 34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? 35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? 36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.   MESSAGE Many times, believers ask God for things and then begin to think about how He will achieve them. In reality, however, our brains cannot understand how God will do the things He wishes to do. For instance, when a man says he has a PhD in Mathematics, it may sound like a big deal, but in truth, he can only be a specialist in an aspect of the subject. If he finds himself among fellow mathematic...

TOPIC: BECAUSE YOU ASK NOT   MEMORISE :  Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. John 16:24   READ : John 20:5-13 5 And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in. 6 Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie, 7 And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself. 8 Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed. 9 For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead. 10 Then the disciples went away again unto their own home. 11 But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre, 12 And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. 13 And they say unt...

TOPIC: OBEY GOD'S INSTRUCTIONS MEMORISE : “Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.” - (Proverbs 8:10) READ : 2 KINGS 5:1-14 (KJV) 1 Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper. 2 And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife. 3 And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy. 4 And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel. 5 And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment. 6 And ...

TOPIC: THE FRAGRANCE OF FAVOUR   MEMORISE :  In the light of the king's countenance is life; and his favour is as a cloud of the  atter rain. Proverbs 16:15   READ : Psalms 44:1-3 1 We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old. 2 How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out. 3 For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.   MESSAGE In Numbers 6:22-27, God commanded the priests to bless the Israelites and declare that His face will shine upon them. When God's face shines on you, you will receive a fragrance of His favor that will ensure that everywhere you go, people will find themselves showing you favor without knowing why. In 1976, while I was a young l...

TOPIC: HELPMEET INDEED II   MEMORISE : And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. Genesis 2:18   READ : Prov 19:13-14 13 A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping. 14 House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the Lord.   MESSAGE A True helpmeet stays with her husband through thick and thin; she doesn't shy away when things are tough. I have been married for 57 years, and sometimes, it feels like my wife, and I are still on honeymoon. I was the poorest among those wooing her before we got married, but I told her that if she married me, everything l would ever have and become would be hers. When we first got married, during our meals, we would playfully struggle over one piece of ponmo, but today, even if we want to eat a whole cow, we can do so because God has truly blessed us.   When things are tough, a true help...

TOPIC: HELPMEET INDEED MEMORISE : The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. Proverbs 31:11   READ : Prov 31:10-31 10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. 11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. 12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. 13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. 14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. 15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. 16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. 17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. 18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. 19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. 20 She stretcheth out her hand to the po...

TOPIC: A SIMPLE PRAYER MEMORISE : "And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed." Mark 1:35 READ : JAMES 5:16-18 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The 17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. MESSAGE : Some years ago, a man's wife ran mad, and she was taken to a herbalist for treatment. After being with the herbalist for so long, she didn't get any better; rather, she only grew worse. Somebody told me about the situation, and I decided to go and pray for the woman. When I got there, I said a simple prayer and left. After l left, some people contacted her husband and said, "This man came and prayed for only two mi...

TOPIC: PHYSICAL ERXERCISE IS PROFITABLE   MEMORISE : For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. 1 Timothy 4:8   READ : 1Cor 6:19-20 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.   MESSAGE Today's memory verse tells us that the profit from spiritual exercise - which is godliness- far outweighs that of physical exercise but also implies that the little profit from physical exercise cannot be gained from spiritual exercise. To function excellently in this physical realm, you need your body to be active and healthy, hence the need for physical exercise. If you ignore the little profit from physical exercise, no matter how godly you are, you just may shorten your lifespan here...

TOPIC: AVOID GLUTTONY MEMORISE : For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags. Proverbs 23:21 READ : ROMANS 6:12-14 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.   MESSAGE : Gluttons are people who love food and are enslaved to overeating such that they become the devil's prey. In Christianity, a fellow is either a soldier for Christ or prey to the devil. The flesh and the spirit are constantly at war (Galatians 5:17), and only soldiers - those who live a life of discipline - can win. Therefore, as a Christian, you should always be spiritually alert; if you're glutton, you'll l...

TOPIC: EAT RIGHT   MEMORIZE : Blessed art thou, O Land, when thy king is the son of nobles, and thy princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness! Ecclesiastes 10:17   READ : Lev 11:1-42 1 And the Lord spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them, 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth. 3 Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat. 4 Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. 5 And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. 6 And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. 7 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be cloven-footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he ...

TOPIC: TRUE BEAUTY MEMORISE : “But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.” - (1 Peter 3:4) READ: 1 PETER 3:3-11 (KJV) 3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; 4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. 5 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: 6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement. 7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that yo...

TOPIC: CHRISTIAN INDEED? MEMORISE : But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. James 1:25   READ : James 1:21-27 21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. 26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain...

TOPIC: THE HUSBANDMAN MEMORIZE : And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? Luke 12:42 READ : Matt 24:45-47 45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.   MESSAGE A husbandman is someone who tills the ground and takes care of crops. In church, the husbandmen are the workers who ensure that everything goes well in Christ's vineyard. When worship rises to God from His vineyard, He pours down blessings, and the first partakers are usually the husbandmen (2 Timothy 2:6). When I joined The Redeemed Christian Church of God, the workers in the church were called Children of God. This is because it is children who ensure that everything ...

TOPIC: BE MODERATE IN ALL THINGS MEMORISE “All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.” - (1 Corinthians 6:12) READ : 1 Corinthians 6:12-20 (KJV) 12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. 13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. 14 And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power. 15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. 16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. 17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 18 Flee fornication. Every sin th...

TOPIC: PRAYERS FOR ELDERS   MEMORISE :  Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD. Leviticus 19:32   READ : 1Tim 5:17-19 17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. 18 For the scripture saith, thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward. 19 Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.   PRAYERS 1, Thank You, Lord, for all the elders around me. Thank You for preserving their lives and for giving me the opportunity to learn from them. 2. Father, please give all the elders around me sound health, physically and mentally. Keep sickness and diseases far from them, in Jesus' name. 3. Father, please surround the elders with love. Do not let them be sad and lonely, in Jesus' name. 4.
