MESSAGE : In John 20:21, Jesus Christ said, “...as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.” In Matthew 10:40, He said, “He that receiveth you re

TOPIC:  PRAYERS FOR 2022   MEMORISE:  But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 READ: Deuteronomy 7:12-15. 12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers: 13 And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee. 14 Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle. 15 And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them u

TOPIC:  GET RID OF THE WEIGHTS   MEMORISE: Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Hebrews 12:1 READ: 1 Corinthians 9:24-27. 24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: 27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. MESSAGE: A ship is usually very big. Many ships are bigger in height and width than some great hotels. However, once its anchored, nothing will ever move the ship from its position. TOPIC:  YOU SHALL OVERCOME   MEMORISE: Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it. Zechariah 4:7 READ: Psalm 2:1-5 1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, 3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. 4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in derision. 5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. MESSAGE : The Psalmist wrote “I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children.” Why? He continued “For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.” (Psalm 69:8-9). This is equally the lamentation of those who would live a

TOPIC:  THE HOLY SPIRIT III   MEMORISE :  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16 READ: Matthew 5:13-16 13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. 14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. MESSAGE: There is something about fire: whatever comes around it feels its heat. It changes things around itself. Even the atmosphere around it is different. Fire does not conform to its environment; it changes it. When you get into a new environment, can people notice the Holy Spi

TOPIC:  THE HOLY SPIRIT II   MEMORISE: A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. Ezekiel 36:26 READ:  Ezekiel 36:24-26 24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. 25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. MESSAGE: One thing about fire is that it can destroy completely. When it is done consuming something, that thing becomes ashes and it can never return to the state in which it was before. The Holy

TOPIC:  THE HOLY SPIRIT I   MEMORISE: And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them. 2 Kings 2:24 READ:  2 Kings 1:7-15. 7 And he said unto them, What manner of man was he which came up to meet you, and told you these words? 8 And they answered him, He was an hairy man, and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite. 9 Then the king sent unto him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him: and, behold, he sat on the top of an hill. And he spake unto him, Thou man of God, the king hath said, Come down. 10 And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty. 11 Again also he sent unto him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he answered and

TOPIC:  SAVED BY GRACE!   MEMORISE: She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.  John 8:11   READ:  John 8:1-11 1 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.   2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.   3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,   4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.   5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?   6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.   7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.   8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.   9 And

TOPIC:  HIS WORD IS YEA AND AMEN   MEMORISE: Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.  Mark 13:31   READ:  2 Corinthians 1:20 20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.   MESSAGE : The word of God is yea and Amen (2 Corinthians 1:20). Therefore, we should take note of all the futuristic sayings of Jesus Christ, because they shall surely come to pass. I have told the story of a mad man who daily used a cutlass to harass people into giving him food. His regular victims were market women. Brandishing his cutlass, he would ask “If you think I can’t cut off your head, and I do, what would you do?” The woman, in terror, would quickly give him some food and be on their way.   One day however, he came across a woman who replied, “I won’t give you anything today; you can do your worst”. In anger, the lunatic hit his cutlass on the woman’s head, but thankfully, only managed to chop off her ears. There was pandemonium t

TOPIC: THE NAME THAT SAVES MEMORISE:  The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. Proverbs 18:10 READ: MATTHEW 1:20-21 20. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. MESSAGE The memory verse of today declares the omnipotent nature of the name of the Lord. In the same verse lies an eternal truth: it says only the righteous can find safety in the name of the Lord. This same Bible however, tells us that none is righteous (Romans 3:10). How then can we access the saving power in the name of the Lord? We find the answer in our Bible reading of today. It says the way out of sin is through the name of Jesus Christ. This name is all-powerful, mighty to

TOPIC:  GOOD SUCCESS VS BAD SUCCESS   MEMORISE: This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.   Joshua 1:8   READ:  Deuteronomy 28:1-14 1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:   2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.   3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.   4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.   5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy s

TOPIC:  GLUTTONY IS NOT A CHRISTIAN VIRTUE .   MEMORISE: But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.   Daniel 1:8   READ:  Proverbs 23:1-8. 1 When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee:   2 And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite.   3 Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat.   4 Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.   5 Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.   6 Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats:   7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.   8 The morsel which thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up

TOPIC:  FRIEND OF A MOCKER?   MEMORISE: Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.   Proverbs 20:1   READ:  Proverbs 31:1-5. 1The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.   2 What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?   3 Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.   4 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:   5 Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.   MESSAGE: In spite of the evil of strong drinks, it is unfortunate that many self-acclaimed children of God are now introducing ‘moderation’ to its consumption. This is one of the signs of the end time, which they themselves teach but fail to acknowledge that they are victims of.   Our memory verse today describes wine as a mocker and strong drink as raging. A classic example of a victim of wine was Noah.

TOPIC:  THERE IS NO EVIL WITH GOD   MEMORISE: Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful. Psalm 116:5   READ:  James 1:13-15. 13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:   14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.   15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.   MESSAGE: Today’s Bible reading clears the erroneous assumption that God experiments with temptations on His children. God does no evil, therefore, if you are His child and are going through temptations, you need to look inward.   We are comforted by God’s promises that He will help His children in the face of temptations. For example, 1 Peter 5:10 says: “ But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.”

TOPIC:  CONTENTMENT AND GODLINESS   MEMORISE: Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife.   Proverbs 17:1   READ:  1 Timothy 6:6-11. 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.   7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.   8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.   9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.   10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.   11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.   MESSAGE: One value lacking in many 21st Century Christians is commitment, and this affects godliness as well. 1 Timothy 6:6 says, “But godliness with contentment is great gai

TOPIC:  THE HABITATION OF THE LORD   MEMORISE: If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous. Job 8:6   READ:   Psalm 97:10-11. 10 Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.   11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.   MESSAGE: God is Holy, His habitation is holy, and He is to be worshipped in the beauty of holiness (Psalm 96:9). The habitation of the Lord is the place where God blesses His people with diverse kinds of blessings- spiritual, physical and material. However, only the pure and upright can be inhabited by God, only people in whom the Lord dwells can enjoy the blessings of God’s presence that guarantees security, according to Psalm 91:1 which says: “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”   If you live holy, you live holy for y

TOPIC:  CHALLENGES ARE STEPPING STONES   MEMORISE: And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.  Romans 8:28   READ:  Philippians 1:12-21. 12 But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;   13 So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places;   14 And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.   15 Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:   16 The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:   17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.   18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.   19 For I

TOPIC:  BEWARE OF PROFITEERING .   MEMORISE: A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight. Proverbs 11:1   READ:  Proverbs 11:1-4. 1A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight.   2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.   3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.   4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.   MESSAGE: Profiteering- the act of making excessive and unfair profit usually through illegal means is considered as wickedness before God. Profiteering involves taking undue advantage of others. You may not know the havoc you are wreaking on humanity until God opens your eyes to see that both the services and goods you are charging exorbitantly for are not affordable by those who need them for survival. Many people profiteer because they want to make excessive profits and enrich themse

TOPIC:  ALL YOUR HEART, SOUL, AND MIND.   MEMORISE: Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.   Matthew 22:37    READ:  Matthew 22:35-38 35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,   36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?   37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.   38 This is the first and great commandment. MESSAGE: God wants you to be totally His. The Lord says in Exodus 20:3 “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” There should be nothing standing between you and God. You shouldn’t also allow anyone, or anything take His place in your life. God must be your all in all.   Beloved, you cannot claim to truly love God with all your heart, soul, and mind if anyone or anything is more important than Him in your life. Jesus Christ described our memory verse today as the

TOPIC:  LET HIM TAKE YOUR BURDEN   MEMORISE: The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.  Ezekiel 18:20   READ:  Ezekiel 18:1-4. 1 The word of the Lord came unto me again, saying,   2 What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge?   3 As I live, saith the Lord God, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel.   4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.   MESSAGE: The righteousness of God demands that the soul that commits sin would die as we see in our memory verse today. John 10:10 however gives us an alternative to sin and death: “The thief cometh not, but for to
