ARRESTING DEMONIC PRESENCE Thursday, October 11, 2012

MEMORIZE: And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them. Mark 6:13 READ: Acts 16:16-18 Demons and idols bow in the presence of our God. If you study how demons related with Jesus Christ and His disciples in the Bible, you will observe that they recognized God’s presence in Jesus Christ and His disciples and they surrendered without much argument. I have always told my children that if we have enough of His presence in us, demons will flee when they sight us, how much more when we command them to go. In Mark 5:1-6, when Jesus stepped on the shores of the Gergesenes, a very notorious, heavily demon-possessed mad man immediately reported to Him even before He said a word. It is very easy to cast out demons when your life is full of God’s glory. The devil and his demons once stood in God’s presence in Heaven but because of their rebellion, they lost that chance. When Jesus came to earth, it was to bring the dominion of Heaven to earth. C

FINGER OF DELIVERANCE Tuesday, October 9, 2012

MEMORIZE: But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you. Luke 11:20 READ: Luke 11:14-20 In the course of this month, we have studied that the finger of God can be an early warning sign or a sign that God’s judgment is imminent and inevitable. This is not exhaustive of what the finger of God is or can do. The finger of God is also a medium for casting out devils. When the Pharisees accused Jesus of casting out devils through Beelzebub the chief of devils, He replied: But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the Kingdom of God is come upon you. Luke 11:20 It is not the shouting of commands or acrobatics that expel demons but the finger of God. When in Mark 16:17 the Lord said you shall cast out devils in His name, He means that you should get ready to work with the invisible finger of God. Demons and satanic agents see what we don’t see. Whenever somebody or something good is born, the devil assigns something or some forces to terminate that life. When Moses was born, Pharaoh was all over town seeking his life. At some point, when the palace appeared to be the only place he could be safe, the Lord arranged events that took him there. In the same vein, when Jesus was born, Herod was all out to terminate His life. They had to take Him to Egypt to secure His life. For most people who have had a definite experience with God, it is only the glory of God they could access. Only very few like Moses could go a little further. FINGER OF JUDGEMENT Tuesday 2 October 2012

Memorise : in The same hour came forth fingers of a man’s hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king’s palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote. Daniel 5:5   Read Daniel 5:1-5, 24-30 The finger of God can be an early warning sign from God, which if disregarded, it could bring full weight of judgement. When the magicians, sorcerers and wise men of Egypt got to a point in the miracle versus magic contest where they could go no further, they were the ones who announced to Pharaoh, “ Sir, that last miracle is beyond our magical powers. This can only be done by God” (Exodus 8:16-19). They warned and left the scene. If Pharaoh had received that warning, he and his people would have been spared but because he rejected it, they perished. TOPIC:  OVERCOMING LUSTS AND TEMPTATION MEMORISE:  Abstain from all appearance of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:22  READ: 1 Corinthians 10:13  13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. MESSAGE What is leading you in life? Is it your flesh or the Spirit of God? Whenever you allow the flesh to give you direction, it will always ends in regret, but when you allow the Holy Spirit to lead you in all things, you can be sure that all will be well. The first step to overcoming lusts and temptations is submission to God, which supplies the power you need to resist the devil, and he will flee from you according to James 4:7.
