TOPIC: WHO DO PEOPLE SAY YOU ARE? MEMORISE : “When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?” - (Matthew 16:13) READ: Matthew 16:13-16 13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. MESSAGE : Today’s topic is a question you must be conscious of. In today’s Bible reading, Jesus asked His disciples whom people said that He was. He wasn’t confused about His identity; He knew who He was, but He was concerned about how people perceived Him. You must be conscious of how people perceive you too. People will only relate with you based on what they think about you and not what you th

TOPIC: THE CALL TO SALVATION

MEMORISE:
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Matthew 11:29

READ: Matthew 11:28-29

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

MESSAGE:
There are basically two people involved in a call- the caller and the called. The basic divine call is what we find in Matthew 11:28-29. Here, God is the caller and the called are all men. It is a call unto salvation which is universal. It hinges on John 3:16, a call from the heart of God. Hebrews 9:27 says:
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”

To be forewarned is to be forearmed. It is however amazing that some people who are considered wise because of their educational attainments prove to be the less wise when it comes to matters relating to God.
“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;” Romans 1:28

A call once went out to the first man- Adam, in Genesis 3:9. This was after his fall into sin. Unfortunately, man mismanaged this opportunity by not accepting responsibility for his sin but rather, decided to blame his wife (Genesis 3:12). Another opportunity came through Jesus Christ the second Adam and our Redeemer. Congratulations to you if you have responded to this call that came through Jesus Christ, according to our Bible reading for toady.  Having received this call, we are now children of the Most High God. We are now heirs of God and joint heirs with the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 8:17; I John 3:1)

Beloved, having answered the call of salvation, we have some obligations to fulfil. We cannot love the world and God at the same time (1 John 2:15-17). We must deliberately separate ourselves from the darkness in the world so that the Almighty God, who made the call can receive us (2 Corinthians 6:14-18).

If however, you haven’t heeded God’s call for salvation, I enjoin you to do so right away, as tomorrow may be too late. Seek the Lord when He can be found (Isaiah 55:6) and surrender your life to Jesus Christ today.

I pray that God will see us all through to our ultimate salvation in the Kingdom of Heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus.

ACTION POINT:
Thank God for the salvation of your soul. If however, you are not yet saved, accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, the call upon Him to save your soul.
