TOPIC: DESTINY DESTROYERS II MEMORISE:  And he said unto them, take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. Luke 12:15 READ : John 12:3-6 & Matthew 26:14-16  3 Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment. 4 Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray him, 5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? 6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein. Matthew 26:14-16  14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, 15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. 16 And from that time he sought oppo

TOPIC:  WHAT DO YOU EAT?

MEMORISE:
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4

READ: Matthew 4:1 -4

1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

MESSAGE
In the laslt two days, we have established that what you put  in your belly must not be your preoccupation. In fact, Philippians 3:19 says that whoever does whatever his belly dictates to him will end up in destruction.
Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.

The question then arises-what should we be feeding on regularly? 1 Peter 2:2 says that:

As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

Your appetite for the word of God must be insatiable, just like a baby’s appetite for milk. You should be hungrier for God’s word than you are for regular food. The word of God should be a major part of our diet because he that is only alive in the flesh and dead in the spirit is as good as dead altogether.

It is the spirit that giveth life the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
John 6:63

The word of God is spirit and life. It is the real food that will keep you alive; feed on it daily!

When I was a younger Christian, my friends and I ensured that before we ate any physical food, we would first study the word of God. That is one of the major contributors to my growth spiritually. If you make the word of God your earnest desire, even you will be surprised at your spiritual growth. You will suddenly discover that you are beginning to think like Christ.

Which do you eat more – the word of God or physical food? Your desire must be for the word of God daily. One thing about the word is that it can never be exhausted. That is one well that never runs dry! You can get revelation from reading a passage today, then read it again tomorrow and the Holy Spirit teaches you something different from it.

Make the word of God your daily meal.

ACTION POINT
Make sure that a day does not go by without you taking time to study and meditate on the word of God.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Chronicles 16-19

AUTHOR: PASTOR E. A ADEBOYE

HYMN 19: O WORSHIP THE KING ALL GLORIOUS ABOVE
1 O worship the King all-glorious above,
O gratefully sing his power and his love:
our shield and defender, the Ancient of Days,
pavilioned in splendor and girded with praise.

2 O tell of his might and sing of his grace,
whose robe is the light, whose canopy space.
His chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form,
and dark is his path on the wings of the storm.

3 Your bountiful care, what tongue can recite?
It breathes in the air, it shines in the light;
it streams from the hills, it descends to the plain,
and sweetly distills in the dew and the rain.

4 Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail,
in you do we trust, nor find you to fail.
Your mercies, how tender, how firm to the end,
our Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend!

5 O measureless Might, unchangeable Love,
whom angels delight to worship above!
Your ransomed creation, with glory ablaze,
in true adoration shall sing to your praise!
