Luke 12:15 READ : John 12:3-6 & Matthew 26:14-16  3 Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment. 4 Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray him, 5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? 6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein. Matthew 26:14-16  14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, 15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness. Proverbs 16:31

READ: Titus 2:1 -5

1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

MESSAGE
1. Father, thank You for our elders. Thank You for preserving and keeping them strong and healthy all these years. We are grateful Lord that we have godly elders to look up to.

2. Father, please keep our elders to a good old age. Don’t let them spend their old age in sickness or sorrow. Let them have peace even in their old age, in Jesus’ name.

3. Father, please forgive our elders for every bad seed they may have sown when they were younger. Please Lord, cancel every negative harvest of such bad seeds, in Jesus’ name.

4. Father, we pray for wisdom for our elders to advise us and teach us correctly when we go to them with our challenges, in Jesus’ name.

5. Lord, as You backed the blessing of Isaac on Jacob, when our elders bless us, back up their words and let them come to pass, in Jesus’ name.

6. Father, please don’t let our elders become redundant. Let their grace and anointing increase as they grow older. Continue to use them even until the end, in Jesus’ name,

7. Father, give our elders the spiritual sensitivity they need to be great coverings for us. Let them sense ahead of time, whatever the devil may be planning and warn us about it so that we don’t crash, in Jesus’ name.

8. Father, I pray particularly for the elders in my family; whatever we need to make them comfortable, please provide for us in abundance, in Jesus’ name.

9. Father, let all the good prayers and wishes of our elders over us be fulfilled in Jesus’ name. let us, the younger ones, always bring them joy, in Jesus’ name.

10. Father, for every elder who is lonely, please send them company that will love them and take care of them. Let their family members not be able to rest until they begin to take care of their aged ones, in Jesus’ name.

11. Father, protect our elders against people who would try to take advantage of them because of their age. Expose anyone presenting false investments, false medication and the likes in order to steal from our elders. Do not permit our elders to be exploited, in Jesus’ name.

12. Your personal prayer points for the elders in your family and community.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Job 13-16

Hymn 26: WE ARE NEVER NEVER WEARY OF THE GRAND OLD SONG
1. We are never, never weary
of the grand old song;
Glory to God, hallelujah!
We can sing it loud as ever,
with our faith more strong;
Glory to God, hallelujah!

Refrain
O, the children of the Lord have
a right to shout and sing,
For the way is growing bright,
and our souls are on the wing;
We are going by and by
to the palace of a King!
Glory to God, hallelujah!

2. We are lost amid the
rapture of redeeming love
Glory to God, hallelujah!
We are rising on its pinions
to the hills above:
Glory to God, hallelujah! [Refrain]

3. We are going to a palace
that is built of gold;
Glory to God, hallelujah!
Where the King in all His
splendor we shall soon behold
Glory to God, hallelujah! [Refrain]

4. There we’ll shout redeeming
mercy in a glad, new song;
Glory to God, hallelujah!
There we’ll sing the praise of Jesus
with the blood washed throng;
Glory to God, hallelujah! [Refrain]
