TOPIC: DESTINY DESTROYERS II MEMORISE:  And he said unto them, take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. Luke 12:15 READ : John 12:3-6 & Matthew 26:14-16  3 Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment. 4 Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray him, 5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? 6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein. Matthew 26:14-16  14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, 15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. 16 And from that time he sought oppo

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL: WEDNESDAY JUNE 22nd 2022

TOPIC:  WHAT DO YOU WANT?

MEMORISE:
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10

READ: Exodus 33:18 -23

18 And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.

19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.

20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.

21 And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:

22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:

23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

MESSAGE
The question in our topic for today is one that invariably every human being will be asked at one point or another. Some people have already been asked this question before and their answer made them lose an opportunity that would have changed their lives forever. Your answer to this question, depending on who is asking you, can change your life for the better if you give the correct response. When God told Solomon to say what he wanted in 2 Chronicles 1:6-7, he asked for wisdom to lead  God's people right. That answer made him end up as the richest and wisest king in the world, ever. When Elisha was asked this same question, he said he wanted a double portion of the spirit of Elijah and he got it. What do you want? Esau wanted food; he got it, but he who could have become the nation of Israel missed that great destiny. Gehazi wanted money, he got it, but he could have gotten a double portion of the anointing on Elisha died a leper. Jeremiah 45:5 says:

And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, l will bring evil upon all flesh,  saith the LORD: but thy life will l give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.

Ecclesiastes 1:2 says all these things are vanity upon vanity. Jesus Christ told us what to seek in Matthew 6:33:

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Seek God, seek that His kingdom be established here on earth. Jeremiah 26:13 says if you seek Him , you will find Him. Let your yearning be for Him and Him alone, then all the things that others are chasing will be chasing you. Seek Him in worship, seek Him through Bible study, seek Him in prayers.

Set your love upon God. Love Him with all your heart, soul and mind as Jesus instructed us in Matthew 22:37 and see if you will ever lack any good thing.

REFLECTION
How desperate do you yearn for God?

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalm 58-60

AUTHOR: PASTOR E" A ADEBOYE

HYMN12: MY FAITH LOOKS uP TO THEE
 1 My faith looks up to thee,
thou Lamb of Calvary,
Savior divine.
Now hear me while I pray;
take all my guilt away;
O let me from this day
be wholly thine!

2 May thy rich grace impart
strength to my fainting heart;
my zeal inspire!
As thou hast died for me,
oh, may my love to thee
pure, warm, and changeless be,
a living fire!

3 While life's dark maze I tread,
and griefs around me spread,
be thou my guide.
Bid darkness turn to day,
wipe sorrow's tears away,
nor let me ever stray
from thee aside.

4 When ends life's transient dream,
when death's cold, sullen stream
shall o'er me roll,
blest Savior, then, in love,
fear and distrust remove;
O bear me safe above,
a ransomed soul!
