TOPIC: BLESSED ARE THE PERSECUTED   MEMORISE :  Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 2 Timothy 3:12   READ : Matthew 5:10-12  10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.   MESSAGE A Christians will experience tribulations in the world (John 16:33), and being persecuted is one of the tribulations that every true believer must face. It is true that persecution is naturally unpleasant; however, it is a thing of joy to know that Jesus promised in Matthew 5:10 that those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake are blessed and will inherit the kingdom of heaven. Today's memory verse says that every believer who...

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE 2022.: SATURDAY NOVEMBER 19TH, 2022.

TOPIC: WONDERFUL GOD - PART ll

MEMORISE:
And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: Acts 19:11

READ: Acts 19:11-16

11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

MESSAGE:
Beyond making you a wonder, God can decide to use you as a vessel through whom He will be doing wonders on earth. This is one thing every believer should pursue. In Acts 5:12-16, the Bible tells us about the great wonders that God performed through the Apostles and how He even healed the sick through Peter's shadow. If the shadow of a man begins to heal the sick, definitely that man has become a vessel for wonders.

If you want to become a vessel for wonders, you will have to really deny yourself of many things. Apostle Paul was without any doubt a vessel for wonders because his handkerchiefs and aprons worked miracles. I Corinthians 10:23 says:
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

If you want God to do wonders for you, you have to stay away from anything that is considered unlawful; however, if you want Him to do wonders through you, you have to stay away from even things that are lawful but not expedient. It is not unlawful to eat, but when you want Him to do wonders through you, fasting will become a regular practice for you. It is not unlawful to spend good time with friends chatting, but for those who God will do wonders through, they will spend more time with Him praying and studying their Bible than they spend with other people. They will give of their substance so much that people will say they are running crazy, they will serve in His house like they are being paid millions in all, they will give themselves totally to God. These are the kinds of people through whom God will do wonders.

Moses, the man through whom God parted the Red Sea, spent more time on the mountain than below it. Indeed, he was so accustomed to the presence of God that the Lord spoke to Him face to face (Exodus 33:11). Elijah - the man who called down fire on Mount Carmel and shut the heavens over Israel for three years was always found on the mountain (2 Kings 1:9). You have to offer yourself a living sacrifice unto God (Romans 12:1), if you want Him to do wonders through you.

KEY POINT:
If you really want God to do wonders through you, be prepared to pay the price.

HYMN 3: DEEPER, DEEPER IN THE LOVE OF JESUS
1 Deeper, deeper in the love of Jesus
Daily let me go;
Higher, higher in the school of wisdom,
More of grace to know.

Refrain

Oh, deeper yet, I pray,
And higher ev'ry day,
And wiser, blessed Lord,
In Thy precious, holy word.

2 Deeper, deeper! blessed Holy Spirit,
Take me deeper still,
Till my life is wholly lost in Jesus,
And His perfect will.

Refrain

3 Deeper, deeper! tho' it cost hard trials,
Deeper let me go!
Rooted in the holy love of Jesus,
Let me fruitful grow.

Refrain

4 Deeper, higher, ev'ry day in Jesus,
Till all conflict past,
Finds me conqu’ror, and in His own image
Perfected at last.
