TOPIC: GOD HATES LONELINESS MEMORISE : “God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.” - (Psalm 68:6) READ : ISAIAH 34:16-17 (KJV) 16 Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them. 17 And he hath cast the lot for them, and his hand hath divided it unto them by line: they shall possess it for ever, from generation to generation shall they dwell therein. MESSAGE : In Matthew 6:9, Jesus taught us to start our prayers with Our Father. God is a "family man'. He loves the concept of family and hates loneliness. In Genesis 2:18, He said that it is not good that a man should be alone. If you're of marriageable age and can't seem to find the right companion to get married to, or if there are forces preventing you from getting married, I pray that the tide will turn this year...

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL: SUNDAY JANUARY 5TH 2025

TOPIC: WHOM GOD CALLS

MEMORISE:
Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Romans 12:11

READ: Proverbs 6:6-11

6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:

7 Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,

8 Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.

9 How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?

10 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:

11 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.

MESSAGE
There are people who claim to have been called by God, but when you look closely, you will realize that they are only going into ministry because they failed at everything else. Today, I will be discussing some of the things God looks for in the people He calls into service.

Anyone who will receive the call of God cannot be lazy. God does not call lazy people. If someone is lazy, that fellow is useless to himself or herself. When you look at everyone whom God called in the Bible, you will discover that they were all busy people. Jesus called Peter after he had fished all night – lazy people don't work all night. When Elisha received the call of God through Elijah, he was on the farm plowing with twelve yokes of oxen before him (1 Kings 19:19).

God works with the principle He stated in Luke 16:10: He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

If you are not faithful in the earthly work that you are doing now, God will not commit souls into your hands. Jesus asked in Mark 8:36, "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" In other words, He was saying that just one human soul is more valuable than the entire world.
Therefore, souls are too precious for Him to commit into the hands of a lazy person.

God is not lazy. Jesus Christ said in John 5:17 that His Father works, and He works too. Since Amos 3:3 says that two cannot walk together except they agree, then, you cannot work with God if you are lazy.

People who are lazy and want to serve God in ministry are people who want to eat without working; this is totally against the will of God. 2 Thessalonians 3:10 says that those who do not work should not eat. After God created man, the first thing He gave him was work.

And the LORD God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. Genesis 2:15

The Scripture above shows how important work is to God.

Beloved, the next time you see lazy people claiming that God has called them into ministry, stay away from them because God does not call lazy people.

KEY POINT
God does not call lazy people.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Genesis 18-20

HYMN 12: ONWARD CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS

1. Onward, Christian soldiers!
Marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus
Going on before.
Christ, the royal Master,
Leads against the foe;
Forward into battle,
See his banners go!

[Chorus]
Onward, Christian soldiers! Marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus
Going on before.

2. At the sign of triumph
Satan’s host doth flee;
On, then, Christian soldiers,
On to victory.
Hell’s foundations quiver
At the shout of praise;
Brothers, lift your voices,
Loud your anthems raise.

3. Like a mighty army
Moves the Church of God;
Brothers, we are treading
Where the Saints have trod.
We are not divided;
All one body we:
One in hope and doctrine,
One in charity.

4. Onward, then, ye people;
Join our happy throng.
Blend with ours your voices
In the triumph song:
Glory, laud, and honor
Unto Christ, the King.
This through countless ages
Men and angels sing.
