TOPIC: GOD HATES LONELINESS MEMORISE : “God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.” - (Psalm 68:6) READ : ISAIAH 34:16-17 (KJV) 16 Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them. 17 And he hath cast the lot for them, and his hand hath divided it unto them by line: they shall possess it for ever, from generation to generation shall they dwell therein. MESSAGE : In Matthew 6:9, Jesus taught us to start our prayers with Our Father. God is a "family man'. He loves the concept of family and hates loneliness. In Genesis 2:18, He said that it is not good that a man should be alone. If you're of marriageable age and can't seem to find the right companion to get married to, or if there are forces preventing you from getting married, I pray that the tide will turn this year...

OPEN HEAVEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL: SUNDAY APRIL 20TH 2025

TOPIC: THE VEIL IS TORN

MEMORIZE:
And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. Luke 23:45

READ: Mark 15:25-39

25 And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.

26 And the superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS.

27 And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left.

28 And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.

29 And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,

30 Save thyself, and come down from the cross.

31 Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save.

32 Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.

33 And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.

34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

35 And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias.

36 And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down.

37 And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.

38 And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.

39 And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.

MESSAGE
When Jesus died on the cross, the veil that separated us from God was torn. Matthew 27:51 says that when He died, the veil separating the Holy of Holies from everybody except the High Priest was torn from top to bottom. God Himself took the curtain separating us from Him and tore it. Ephesians 2:12-16 says that the wall between us and God was broken by the blood of Jesus. His sacrifice meant that we could now come in contact with God; His death opened up a new era for humanity. Now, everyone has full access to God through Jesus Christ. It is because of Jesus that I can call God 'Daddy'. It is because of Him that everyone anywhere, regardless of their skin color or social status, can experience God's presence. Jesus died so you can have an intimate relationship with the Father. Is your relationship with God distant or intimate? Jesus died because He wants you to relate with the Father personally. To what extent have you opened your heart to God?

The torn veil signifies the destruction of everything that can keep us from enjoying God's fullness. Are you sick in your body? Are you in the bondage of addictions? Are you tormented by demons? Jesus tore the veil so that you can access health, deliverance, peace, and freedom. You don't have to continue struggling through life when you can enjoy all that Jesus' death has made available to you. I pray that everything hindering you from enjoying good health and peace will be torn like that veil, in Jesus' name.

The torn veil also signifies a new beginning. It means that the old has been taken away. You can now enjoy the newness and fullness of life. While the veil remained in the temple, people lived under the old covenant, but as soon as it was torn, mankind was ushered into a new covenant. Hebrews 12:24 says that Jesus is the mediator of the new covenant, and His blood speaks for us. As we celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, may His blood speak better things into your life, and may you experience new beginnings in every area of your life where you need newness, in Jesus' name.

Lastly, the veil represents Jesus body (Hebrews 10:19-20). His flesh was torn so that yours can be whole. I pray that from now on, you will| experience wholeness in every area of your life, in Jesus' name. Happy Easter.

ACTION POINT
Spend some time thanking Jesus for His sacrifice on the cross and for taking away the veil.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Kings 6-8

AUTHOR: PASTOR E. A ADEBOYE

HYMN 10: IN CHRIST ALONE
1 In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My comforter, my all in all
Here in the love of Christ I stand

2 In Christ alone who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live
There in the ground His body lay

3 Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

4 No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand
