TOPIC: MAINTAIN YOUR FREEDOM I   MEMORISE :  And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. Ephesians 5:11   READ : John 5:5-14 5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? 7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. 8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. 9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath. 10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed. 11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk. 12 Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take ...

TOPIC: THE LORD IS MY HIDING PLACE

MEMORISE
Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word. Psalm 119:114

READ: Psalms 32:6-7

6 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.

7 Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

MESSAGE
In my early years of being the General Overseer of RCCG, my wife came to me during one of our annual conventions and said, “To feed the people today, we need an extra 5,000 naira.” I asked her, “Darling, when do you need the money? Today or now?” She asked, “What’s the difference?” I then told her that there is a lot of difference between today and now. She then replied, “We need the money today.” I told her, “In that case, you can go. When I have the money, I will give it to you.” At the time she came, I didn’t have any money with me, but I knew that there is a God in heaven who is my hiding place. I can always run to Him when there is trouble.

When my wife left, I turned to my Lord, “The people have come. They are Your people, and You can’t allow them to starve.” Not long after, a man who was not a member of the church drove into the Redemption Camp (now Redemption City) and came to see me. He was just passing by and saw a large crowd coming into the camp. He was curious, so he asked, “What is going on here?” I told him we were having our annual convention. He replied, “Beautiful! Next year, I will be part of it.” He then put his hand in his pocket, brought out an envelope, and said, “In the meantime, let me support the church with this token.” I prayed for him, and he left. When I opened the envelope, I saw that it contained 1,000 naira. I said to myself, “Thank God. We have 1,000 naira down and 4,000 naira to go.” Shortly after, the leaders of the youths in the church came to me in the office and gave me an envelope. I prayed for them, and they left. I opened the envelope, and it contained 2,000 naira. Not long after, I sent for my wife and gave her the 5,000 naira She had earlier requested because God miraculously provided another 2,000 naira.

In Psalm 61, the Psalmist cried that God should lead him to a rock higher than him. God’s word is the rock that hides us from trouble and shame. Beloved, you can never be stranded when you put your hope in God’s word. When you put your total trust in His word, He will hide you in His secret place and ensure you are never put to shame.

PRAYER POINT
Father, please hide me in your secret place. Let me not be put to shame, in Jesus ‘name.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Luke 13-15

AUTHOR: PASTOR E. A ADEBOYE
HYMN 19: ROCK OF AGES CLEFT FOR ME
1 Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy riven side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure,
Save me from its guilt and power.

2 Not the labor of my hands
Can fulfill Thy law’s demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All could never sin erase,
Thou must save, and save by grace.

3 Nothing in my hands I bring,
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress,
Helpless, look to Thee for grace:
Foul, I to the fountain fly,
Wash me, Savior, or I die.

4 While I draw this fleeting breath,
When mine eyes shall close in death,
When I soar to worlds unknown,
See Thee on Thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee
