TOPIC: DON'T OUTGROW CORRECTIONS MEMORISE:  While it is said, Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. Hebrews 3:15 READ : Proverbs 15:10-12 10 Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die. 11 Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men? 12 A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise. MESSAGE For every action or inaction, there are consequences. This is why you should consider it a great privilege when you have people around you who can correct you whenever you do something wrong so that you do not have to suffer terrible consequences. Unfortunately, some people do not listen to corrections. The Bible refers to such people as servants. A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer. Proverbs 29:19 You can choose between being corrected by words or by consequences. If you...

HE MAKES THINGS HAPPEN Saturday 14 April 2012

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye
Memorise: Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build It: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. Psalms 127:1
Read: Exodus 15:22-25
Our God is not only the King of kings but also the Lord of lords (Revelation 19:16). A lord is someone who makes things happen. For instance, a landlord is not just the owner of a piece of land, but also the one who has put a house on the land. Anybody can own a piece of land but before the fellow can be called a landlord, he must have performed the feat of building a house on the land. Likewise, in the valley of dry bones, God said that the reason He will make dry bones to live again is to establish His lordship over His people ( Ezekiel 37:13). As Lord, He makes things happen. He can reverse the irreversible. All those major miracles which took places at different times and seasons in the Bible were simply a mark of the Lord in action. In Exodus 14:21, when Moses lifted his hands across the Red sea, the Lord paved a way through it. When the Israelites experienced bitter water at Marah, the Lord moved again by showing Moses the way out (Exodus 17:22-25). At some other time when they needed water, the Lord brought out water from the rock (Exodus 17:1-6). Even at the age of 90, the lord caused barren Sarah to conceive (Genesis 18:9-14). In your life this year, the Lord will cause things to happen and ensure your joy is full in Jesus name.
One implication of the title Lord of lords is that except He makes something to happen, nobody else can. Hence Psalms 127:1 says:
Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build It: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
He also says in Revelation 3:7 that except He opens, nobody else can. Except God protects, bodyguards are simply wasting time as safety is of the Lord. If God does not help you, nobody else can (Psalms 60:11). Are you in need of help? As long as the Lord of lords is with you, you shall not lack help. Except the Lord heals, you may take all the treatment on earth and remain sick. He will heal you of whatever sickness is troubling you today.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, in my life and situation, make good things a daily event.
Bible in one year: Galatians 4-6
