Memorize: Then she came and told the man of God. And
he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy
children of the rest.
2 Kings 4:7
If you owe God, man or an organization, make every effort to pay up. God expects us to live a debt-free life (
Deuteronomy 15:6).
Psalms 37:21
says it takes a heart of mercy to return what is borrowed. This implies
that if you borrowed something or some money but fail to repay out of
choice or you do not make serious effort to repay, you lack mercy, you
are heartless and wicked.
You are simply repaying evil for good done to you. What does the
scripture say about that? When a similar thing was done to David, he
decreed that his offenders should by all means come under a wicked boss
or leader, and that Satan should personally supervise their misfortune,
and that in their judgment there should be no appeal, their prayer
should become an abomination to God, their life-span should be
shortened, they should be replaced and that this judgment should be
extended to their families too (
Psalms 109:5-10).
The gravity of this is so enormous! Are you returning evil for the
good done to you? You don't know the trouble you are courting! Whoso
rewardeth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house.
Proverbs 17:13
It simply means if you are working against those who are working for
you or you are repaying with evil the good things being done to you,
evil will make you their headquarters.
You can be certain that in such a life, evil happenings will be a
normal occurrence. There are some leaders who were supported by their
assistants but instead of the leaders helping them up, they sat on their
progress. They too are not exempted from this fate as there is no
respect of persons with God.
Have you in any way repaid evil to those doing good to you, whether
in error or deliberately? Go and meet them and restitute. Release their
promotion you sat upon today. Whatever you need to do to make them
happy, go ahead and do it now. If you restitute, it is for your own
good.
If you don't, you cannot avoid the harvest you have triggered. Some
debtors may tell their creditors or say to themselves, ”Since you want
me to repay the money you loaned to me, I will pay it back in such a way
that you will be unable to gather the money to do anything useful with
it”.
Such a debtor will pay back but will still suffer the evil
consequences of wickedness. If you owe, you should make repayment a
priority. You could even starve yourself of food or daily needs just to
repay at the fastest possible time as agreed with your creditor. That is
an act of righteousness.
PRAYER POINTS: Father, make a way for me to pay off
my debts and grant me the wisdom to live within my means. Let me never
have cause to borrow again.
Bible in one year: Revelation 3-4
