TOPIC: THE WEIGHT OF COVENANTS I MEMORISE : My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Psalm 89:34 READ : Genesis 17:1-8 1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. 2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. 3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, 4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. 5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. 6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. 7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. 8 And I will give unto thee,...

HEAVEN’S AIR FRESHENER Tuesday 20 March 2012

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye
Memorise: Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. Psalm 141:2
Read: Revelation 5:8-9
Immediately the lamb stepped out, He took the sealed scroll from God’s hand and the four living beings and the 24 elders knew that the One in control had come. The praise took a different form as each of them got harps ready to praise Him. The elders also had vials in their hands filled with some kind of aroma which was the prayers of the saints. This implies that after you are born again and you pray, your prayers are collected in those golden vials by the elders and stored to be offered to God as a sweet smelling aroma. From this peep into Heaven, we understand that one common duty in Heaven is singing and praising God. This shall continue for the rest of eternity. Many who cannot play instruments here may have to learn it there. So the more you learn to praise God with your voice and with musical instruments, the more prepared you are for Heaven. The less you praise Him, the less prepared you are for Heaven. Are you truly expecting to make it to Heaven in eternity? Then begin to prepare along this line and you will easily receive inspiration in composing songs from Heaven. Many heavenly songs have been given to men who are heaven focused, but the bulk of Heaven’s songs are yet waiting to be given to those who are prepared. In Heaven, everyone is part of God’s mass choir. How effectively are you preparing to join this choir?
Your prayers are not a nuisance to God as some people think. Sometimes, when you pray often, you may wonder if God is not tired of hearing your voice. No He is not! Your prayers are Heaven’s lavender an air freshener which God asks the elders to offer when He wants to smell something good. However, if you want your prayers to smell fresh in Heaven, let them be loaded with lots of praises, worship and thanksgiving. When you give God what He likes to hear, you are preparing Heaven’s air fresheners for Him. How effectively are you doing this? Are your prayers desirable or unacceptable to God?
KEY POINT:
If you know how to give God some good aroma through praises, he will make your life more appealing and attractive.
