Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye
Memorise: While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest,
and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
Genesis 8:22
Read: Psalms 16:5-8
According to John 9:4, in everyone’s life, there is a day
season and a night season. The former is ruled by the sun while the latter is
ruled by the moon. In the life of believers, the Sun of Righteousness is ready
to rule your day season hence He instructs believers to be ready to do their
best during the day. Even the Lord acknowledges the difficulty of working in
the night. If you will be a king in Heaven and occupy one of the thrones there,
you must learn to work in your day season. The average day season starts from
childhood to about 59. Your night season starts from 60 years. If you are below
60, make haste to do the bidding of the Lord. Ensure you fulfill His purpose
for your life. If you are 60 and above but have not done much, ask God to have
mercy on you and turn your night season into day. He did that for Moses, who at
the age of 80 when he should be retiring, God commissioned him. He even served
for 40 years up till 120 years. He could have continued but for anger. If Moses
could achieve so much for God in ministry at that age, you too can. In fact,
you can do much more.
Take stock of your achievements in the Kingdom. Has God
specifically told you what He wants you to do? Have you done those things
exceptionally well? God deserves the highest quality of service from His
children. Is there anything left undone? Is there any aspect of the work you
have done that needs to be improved upon? If you were sitting for an
examination, and have finished but you still have some time left, you would
most likely go over the questions and the answers you provided to be sure you have
not goofed. You can apply the same to your work for God. You can make necessary
corrections while you can. Ensure you render quality services to the Lord.
Offer sacrificial services too. Do everything you can just to please the
Master.
PRAYER POINTS:
Lord, may l never be found wanting in my divine assignments
and grant me grace to complete them in their season.
Bible in one year: Psalms 13-15
